a Classic Dilemma

Encouragement for Developers:
Users are often willing to switch allegiances to, or at least test drive, a new application when the OS 9 program hasn't made the switch.
Classic is a tribute to the fine engineers at Apple. No mere emulator, it provides the bridge that many people need to move to OS X without feeling lost on a raft in the ocean.

That being said, I'm not a fan of having to run Classic, and most people aren't. The Classic GUI is different and inconsistent with the Aqua GUI. While most of my Classic needs have been taken care of by Carbon versions coming out (BBEdit, AppleWorks, RealOne Player, MTNewsWatcher, audio applications, etc), Mac users all have different needs, and OS X hasn't been out long enough to have solved everything for all users.

This page is meant to help others find out what alternatives are ready or at least list what items they're still waiting for. As a secondary purpose, this is a great list for developers to know what opportunities there are to swoop in and provide what other companies have not been able to.
I'd be very interested to compile a list of what OS X still needs for people to go fully native.
